The Orton-Gillingham approach is the foundation of my work with students who struggle with reading. I recieved my training from the Dyslexia Training Institute in San Diego, California. Keeping abreast of best practices is the hallmark of sound instruction. To that end, I have completed training at the Children’s Dyslexia Center in Milwaukee, WI. I am a Certified Academic Language Practitioner with ALTA. I am also certified with IMSLEC, the International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council. Both of these organizations require continuing education.
After dealing with a number of frustrated, challenged readers in my teaching career, I often wished there was more I could do to help them. Now, I have the tools to help students unlock the path to learning.
I am a member of the International Dyslexia Association and am on the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin Branch of IDA.
